Surah At Tariq , 86

friends, dato and tan seri,

we move on to surah at tariq, an early makkan surah that poignantly reminds man of his lowly origin; of life after death and his accountability for all his actions and thoughts to allah..

beyond the commentary of this surah we have two well known individuals, of international repute and well known in the academia, that give  counter arguments against the present hysteria in the west with respect to islam.

they 'rubbished' the current neo con's approach to simplify their policies on the existence of what samuel huntington termed as ' clash of civilization '.

huntington's ' clash of civilization ' is nothing new.
from the time of pharaoh to bush junior to trump, these clowns have used the same reasoning and rationale. currently it work to america's advantage to be selectively myopic and tendenciously xenophobic of other cultures....it is a nation that thrives economically on wars and crises across the globe.

in an earlier surah, surah al buruj, we hear of sad harrowing story of the ' people of the ditch ' and the king.
not much has change over 3 milleniums.
america  is the new romans, thamud or pharaoh....

سُوۡرَةُ الطّارق
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ (١) وَمَآ أَدۡرَٮٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ (٢) ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ (٣) إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ۬ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡہَا حَافِظٌ۬ (٤) فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ (٥) خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ۬ دَافِقٍ۬ (٦) يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآٮِٕبِ (٧) إِنَّهُ ۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ۬ (٨) يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآٮِٕرُ (٩) فَمَا لَهُ ۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ۬ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ۬ (١٠) وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ (١١) وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ (١٢) إِنَّهُ ۥ لَقَوۡلٌ۬ فَصۡلٌ۬ (١٣) وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ (١٤) إِنَّہُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدً۬ا (١٥) وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدً۬ا (١٦) فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا (١٧)

  

Surah At-Tariq
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star (1) - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! (2) - The piercing Star! (3) No human soul but hath a guardian over it. (4) So let man consider from what he is created. (5) He is created from a gushing fluid (6) That issued from between the loins and ribs. (7) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) (8) On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. (9) Then will he have no might nor any helper. (10) By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, (11) And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) (12) Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, (13) It is no pleasantry. (14) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) (15) And I plot a plot (against them). (16) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. (17)

By the heaven and the Morning Star (1) - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! (2) - The piercing Star! (3) 

In the universe there are dark planets, such as the earth, which are dull and emit no light, and there are stars, like the sun, that glow and radiates light. The 'night visitor' referred  to in this surah is one such star, which the Arabs identify as al-Shahid [ meaning " witness " or  the " the proof " ] , and is normally visible at sunset. It could also be a reference to a group of bright stars.

" No human soul but hath a guardian over it." (4) and God provides watch over every human being, to record his or her deeds and actions.

The surah goes on to affirm: " So let man consider from what he is created. (5) He is created from a gushing fluid (6) That issued from between the loins and ribs." (7). The Qur'an speaks with such authority and precision on matters of science, that there have been reports of modern embryologists being filled with amazement and admiration at such accurate statements on the various stages of human conception, which are unique to the Qur'an.

It is common knowledge that human conception begins with the ejaculation of the  male sperm and is controlled by a number of glands connected to the nervous system. However, the human being is also the product of nutritive substances, provided by the environment in which we live, and in which water, sun, energy, and soil, among others, all play a part. Yet some people deny the miraculous aspect of creation, for getting that one day they will have to account for their denial - the day " On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. (9) Then will he have no might nor any helper. "(10)

The surah goes on to elaborate on God's mighty creation: the earth is plowed and produces plants, the skies gush with rain and the seeds are planted and grow to ensure that the cycle of life is maintained; helpless weak babies developed into strong, full-grown men and women. What power, other than God's, lies behind these amazing phenomena of creation and regeneration?

The Qur'an comes  to establish truth:

" Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, (13) It is no pleasantry. (14) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) (15) And I plot a plot (against them). (16) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. "(17)
