when saiditina hajar dismounted, with saidina ismail in her cradle, saidina ibrahim gave her a leatherbag full of water and a small sack full of dates..
" to whom are you leaving us to? ", she asked.
" allah", saidina ibrahim replied matter-of-factly.
" in that case, HE is sufficient for us both..", .......
when her water supply ran out, saiditina hagar ran from safar to marwah, to and fro, to and fro.
to this day 1.5 billions humanities aspire to relive her ordeal in their minor and major pilgrimage in makkatul mukharamah.....an ordeal of an abyssinian slave girl with her young son, gifted to saidina ibrahim by an apparently barren wife , saiditina sarah, who later bore isahak.
descendants of isahak and ismail, 15 centuries later, still at loggerhead with each other over a small piece of real estate named baitulmaqdis.
it all started in the fringe of madinah during nabi's time, with bani nadir, bani qaynanu and bani qurayza.
the lost sheep of what remain of followers of nabi isa also take centre stage in the incessant querrel......and now in the last 2 centuries,are in cohort with descendents of bani nadir, qaynanu and qurayza. in fact for many centuries before : the jews finance some of the crusades!
it is human to plan.
but allah has already decided how the end game would be....
