Surah Al Qadr , 97

yab wawi,

in a well known hadith,
nabi[ pbuh] was ascending his mimbar and he was noted to 'ameen' at every of his step for a total of three steps.
prominent sahabat close by asked the nabi later why this peculiarity on that occasion?

"jibril alaihisalam was reading a do'a on my 1st step, 'oh allah, may your mercy be distanced to your servant who, as ramadan passed, he failed to get himself into your jannah.....oh allah, may you distance your mercy to a servant, who when the name of your nabi is mentioned, he failed to send his salam and selawat......and oh allah, may your mercy be a distance to your servant , when both or one of the parents of your servant is present in his care, and that failed to get him into jannah!..."

listen, but if you very  have limited time , and indeed you have little time, given the affairs of the state you are in, just listen to the discourse by shaykh riyadh ul haq.
shaykh riyadh is very interesting character and my latest 'find' for my tafseer blog.

he is a home grown uk scholar from 'darul uloom'...no it is not in pakistan or india.
the pakis and banglas have 'colonised' britain!
it is somewhere in the midlands of england.

he not only knows his ugama very well and fully conversant in oxford english, he can comprehend solid state newtonian physics as well as quantum physics and sees them  in the context of the ayat he discussed.

he reads the qur'an excellently and he reads the universe with a profound comprehension!...and this is a rare quality indeed.
he is my type and your type of scholar , alhamdullillah!

but if you can find the time,  yab, do listen to ustad nouman and shaykh yasir qadhi as well.
they are superb in their own right.


may your coming ramadan be a blessed one for you and your family as i wish it also would for myself and family.

we are all  indeed living in interesting time, post pru14.
just yesterday your boss announced in public that malaysia is not going to see anymore kleptocracy in high governance.
reading in between the lines , i may humbly correct him, if we malaysia do indeed not going to the level of kleptocracy to the level that we saw during ntr time, we  can consider ourselves already living in a blessed land!
as it is now we have to see the likes of the lembu chap, the ciregar and pandichap being brought to justice.

as a  simple raayat i  know malaysia has a long way to go towards zero kleptocracy as long as politicians are able to wield their power like nobody's business.

we do not have the institutions and the individuals yet to ensure zero tolerance to kleptocracy and gross corruption at the highest offices , be it in politics or the royal houses.

we have  to start hanging all these lowly clowns by their 'balls' as soon as possible, only then we are convinced!

سُوۡرَةُ القَدر
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ فِى لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ (١) وَمَآ أَدۡرَٮٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ (٢) لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٌ۬ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَہۡرٍ۬ (٣) تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيہَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّہِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٍ۬ (٤) سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ (٥)  

Surah Al-Qadr
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Power. (1) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is! (2) The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. (3) The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees. (4) (The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn. (5)
