Surah Al Imran, 3 : 33 - 80

your highness,

In this segment of surah al Imran God went on a 30 ayat spree on the next 'muslims', the Christians.

[ in surah al baqarah, He concentrate on the earlier Muslims, the Jews ]

He started with mention of the family of Imran [ blessed Mary's grandpa]; The story of  old Zachariah with his barren wife, later blessed with Yahya aka  John the Baptist;

and the miraculous birth of Jesus aka Isa alaihisalam[ pbuh].

In ayat 60 HE fast forward to year nine post hijrah when a group of Christian scholars and priests visited nabi Muhammad [pbuh] at Masjid Nabawi.

Even then  nabi Muhammad and the Christians from Najran were trying to find a 'common word' but could'nt

Now , more  than 14 and the half centuries later we present day Muslims and the Christians still could not find a 'common word'  to share.

two monolith of immense proportion still at each others throat. one, has lost all sense of bearing , knotted in circles on the concept of trinity, the other, still lost and has not yet being able to restore it's confidence and glory after being butchered and ravaged by 'hyenas and wild dogs' of the west came post world war 1 and 2.

but the damage to the former was more than cosmetic: it was irreparable.
Paul and the Romans at the Council of Nicea in 200 something ac, changed the ugama beyond recognition!

From being monotheistic, the Christians have chosen the nebulous concept of three godhead in one and one in three, The Holy Trinity

From just being Prophet Isa , the messenger, had been elevated to God-head., by men [ and women ] who put political and personal expediency above truth.

And this sad state of affair may happen to Islam in the future if the 'liberal islamists' have their way.

Islam may not be a trinity.
it would not come to that.......but it may not be recognizable by the sahabat if they were to be alive.

These 'animals called the 'liberal islamists' is a motley group of characters no doubt

Most are just purely ignorant nominal Muslims.

The top few are commited  and highly educated in the secular way but, alas, misguided.

Of those 'self' educated in the religion, not a small group just want the Qur'an alone.

Some others, cherry picking from the hadiths and the Qur'an

A  rarefied few, with high academic phd's from the West,  and very readily apologetic  and subservient towards them, have permanent  'head  damage' [ phd ] to the point that  they divide the qur'an into two halves. The Makkan ayats and surah, to them, can be wholesomely accepted as they deal with broad principles and universal guidelines . It is rather convenient as these universal principles do not seem to have a frontal collision with the West.  The  Madinan surah  and ayat however are full of specific advisory and guidelines such as  hudud. To them anything that go against the grain of Westren thoughts and liberalism will need to be rescrutinized and reexamined.  Such is the permanent head damage in this rarefied and highly academicall inspired group.Their magic word  and 'wand' of sort ' is term as 'contextualization'.

off the cuff people like tariq ramadan and jasser auda come mind.

To my humble mind the problem is not with the codification of the law but rather the new 'ulama's spirit is sadly  'not there' yet , let alone the ignorant masses, and  in most cases,  the political elite groups they serve.

...these 'new animals' , ignorant or misguided , share the same denominator. They seem to enjoy a lot of applause and accolade from a public that are looking for a convenient way out of having to have a' total indivisible submission to Allah, the rabbil alamin.

In short, wither the 'new Muslims'.

Say: Obey Allah and the messenger. But if they turn away, lo! Allah loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance). (32) Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His) creatures. (33) They were descendants one of another. Allah is Hearer, Knower. (34) (Remember) when the wife of 'Imran said: My Lord! I have vowed unto Thee that which is in my belly as a consecrated (offering). Accept it from me. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower! (35) And when she was delivered she said: My Lord! Lo! I am delivered of a female - Allah knew best of what she was delivered - the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast. (36) And her Lord accepted her with full acceptance and vouchsafed to her a goodly growth; and made Zachariah her guardian. Whenever Zachariah went into the sanctuary where she was, he found that she had food. He said: O Mary! Whence cometh unto thee this (food)? She answered: It is from Allah. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will. (37) Then Zachariah prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer. (38) And the angels called to him as he stood praying in the sanctuary: Allah giveth thee glad tidings of (a son whose name is) John, (who cometh) to confirm a word from Allah lordly, chaste, a prophet of the righteous. (39) He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when age hath overtaken me already and my wife is barren?
