In the perennial fight between good and evil, many helpless people will endure pain and suffering, and may say to their oppressors: "How should we not put our trust in Allah when He hath shown us our ways? We surely will endure the hurt ye do us. In Allah let the trusting put their trust "(12). Oppression can never prevail and retribution can esily occur in this life here on earth. In the end, no matter how long it may be delayed, justice will be done. The surah affirms this , saying: "Deem not that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do. He but giveth them a respite till a day when eyes will stare (in terror), "(42)
History illustrates that oppressors are ruthless, barbaric people and as God's enemies, are utterly merciless in their war against believers. But their power and ferocity cannot alter the course of divine justice. The surah says:
Verily they have plotted their plot, and their plot is with Allah, though their plot were such whereby the mountains should be moved. (46) So think not that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His messengers. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong). (47)
