Surah at Tahrim, 66...........6th Discourse, Still on Ayat 7

your excellency,

when you, me or the rest of  'mortals'  like us do 'taubah', , even on a daily basis, it is for our grievous missdeeds, and in our youth most likely arising from our utter forgetfulness [ ghaflah ], plain laziness, and gross lack of ilm and wisdom. in old age , it most likely arising from all the three still.

the spirit is willing but the body is very much lacking and stuck to this duniya.

when muqarrabin or awliya do their daily 'taubah', it is usually arising from utter embarassment  with allah for some mis thoughts or minor misdeeds or miscalculation.

when para ambiya does taubah it is out of longing, love and shukr.

taubah is such an important aspect of our ugama, shaykh dr haitham al haddad need not apologise
for being stuck at it still for the last three discourses!

(Then it will be said): O ye who disbelieve! Make no excuses for yourselves this Day. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. (7) O ye who believe! Turn unto Allah in sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your evil deeds and bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, on the day when Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will run before them and on their right hands; they will say: Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Lo! Thou art Able to do all things. (8) O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end. (9) Allah citeth an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot, who were under two of Our righteous slaves yet betrayed them so that they (the husbands) availed them naught against Allah and it was said (unto them): Enter the Fire along with those who enter.
