15:20...... each one of you is a priest, an ulama, a rabi or a monk, even though we are encouraged
to 'subspecialise' ie become planters, farmers, lawyers, accountants, plumbers,
writers etc etc and etc including politicians, good and honest politicians i mean.
islam is about good character, good character , good character and good character...
this is our type of 'monasticism'.
ten 'substations' within the station of love....
1. recitation of the qur'an
2. doing extra good deeds [ sunat] beyond the obligatory deeds
3. continuous supplication and zikr
4. preferring what God loves over our personal likes and dislikes
5. delve and spend time on the 99 names of God
6. witness and contemplate the beauty and blessing of nature and your own life
7. recognizing our own sins and trespasses
8. qiamulail
9. keep company with truthful and the pious
10. staying away from everything that keep one further from God
