station 'truthfulness' is the eight station on a salik's journey to HIM.
the modern man can rationalise, he can weave and wane, he can put up pseudo scientific facts....
they can veil themselves from truth by believing in pseudo truth, while they are on planet earth.

don't be one who discover truth only when sand and dirt are being put into you mouth......
throw  your ego and pretensions out of the window, your excellency!
your garage full of daimler, maseratis and bentley turbo are not going to help you.
not even your trophy wife or wives!

all of them are not going to help your posterity.

this discourse reminded me of tok wali sa'ad of melur, kota bharu some 55 years ago and fond memories of jalan teliput, old kota bharu of the early 60's.

he went around whole day  in old kb, most time on a private rickshaw with  incantation of  ' ya latif, ya latif, ya latif, ya latif, ya latif.........'

he has a system to his madness at least.
better than present day ntr.....this chap collect trinkets and 'garbage' that even he  cannot bring forward for his posterity.
in his 'madness' he does not bother that the nation and its people will have to bear the burden for generations to come.

and we as a nation can still tolerate this kind of nonsense....
collectively , at the end of the day, we deserve what we deserve.

Hast thou not observed those who are hypocrites, (how) they tell their brethren who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture: If ye are driven out, we surely will go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you, and if ye are attacked we verily will help you. And Allah beareth witness that they verily are liars. (11) (For) indeed if they are driven out they go not out with them, and indeed if they are attacked they help them not, and indeed if they had helped them they would have turned and fled, and then they would not have been victorious. ustad muhammad mustaffa is more definitive.
he opined that if one  lack ilm, ilm and ilm in one's ugama ,for god sake, dont sign one's name in the dotted line with je25, sos 'dan orang2 yang sewaktu dengan mereka'.
for god sake dont draw lines in the sand with allah, if you want your posterity to be safe.
at least in a court of appeal there is still space and time to appeal.....

Surah Al-Hashr
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (1) He it is Who hath caused those of the People of the Scripture who disbelieved to go forth from their homes unto the first exile. Ye deemed not that they would go forth, while they deemed that their strongholds would protect them from Allah. But Allah reached them from a place whereof they recked not, and cast terror in their hearts so that they ruined their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn a lesson, O ye who have eyes! (2) And if Allah had not decreed migration for them, He verily would have punished them in the world, and theirs in the Hereafter is this punishment of the Fire. (3) That is because they were opposed to Allah and His messenger; and whoso is opposed to Allah, (for him) verily Allah is stern in reprisal. (4) Whatsoever palm-trees ye cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah's leave, in order that He might confound the evil-livers. (5) And that which Allah gave as spoil unto His messenger from them, ye urged not any horse or riding-camel for the sake thereof, but Allah giveth His messenger lordship over whom He will. Allah is Able to do all things. (6) That which Allah giveth as spoil unto His messenger from the people of the townships, it is for Allah and His messenger and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, that it become not a commodity between the rich among you. And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal. (7)       [ translation by pickthal  ]

Before We Move On to Surah al Hashr, 59.........Concept of Wilayah

friends , dato and tansri,

we are living in interesting time.
just 2 months ago prior to ge14 things was getting very gloomy..
could we ever remove the carbuncle, a pair of them, rotting in our midst...
the embarassment of a nation unable to remove its un-welcomed numero uno.

now 2 months post ge14, we increasingly hear of the relative unease between partners: dap and pkr/pribumi over cabinet posts, dominance etc etc and etc.
some fear a breakup of partnership.

it cannot be far from the truth.
if i am tdm, as a supreme pragmatist, i will sleep very well....
i would not be bullied by my partners be it pkr or dap.
if dap tries to be funny i can play the pas card....ph will end up stronger and probably i can even change the constitution.
if pkr and dap both try to be 'funny', i will give the government to dsai and go for a long mediterranean cruise.
...come back after a year and check on how he is doing!
at 93, i don't care . if they cannot appreciate what i am doing, they can have it!

we leave politics behind and move on our 'ecrl' train.
it has just left kuala teganung and moving on to the next station, telaga papan.
we stop at the buffet coach for some refreshment...

O ye who believe! When ye hold conference with the messenger, offer an alms before your conference. That is better and purer for you. But if ye cannot find (the wherewithal) then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (12) Fear ye to offer alms before your conference? Then, when ye do it not and Allah hath forgiven you, establish worship and pay the poor-due and obey Allah and His messenger. And Allah is Aware of what ye do. (13) Hast thou not seen those who take for friends a folk with whom Allah is wroth? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear a false oath knowingly. (14) Allah hath prepared for them a dreadful doom. Evil indeed is that which they are wont to do. (15)

we should all aim  ' higher and higher '......



O ye who believe! when it is said unto you, Make room! in assemblies, then make room; Allah will make way for you (hereafter). And when it is said, Come up higher! go up higher; Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have knowledge, to high ranks. Allah is Informed of what ye do. (11)

at whatever time and circumstances of your life, let us 'aim higher and higher' in respect to our 'ugama' , in respect to our 'closeness' to allah.

how we achieve that is an 'art' rather than a science.
a life long 'art'.

aim higher and higher in term of generosity towards the elders; towards those with ailments and ill heath; towards those in poverty and in trouble; be generous towards those who know more than you; those who have contributed to the 
ugama' earlier than you........
give proper respect to ulama'

that is the proper adab.

allah will bring you closer to HIM, insyaallah.

(9) Lo! Conspiracy is only of the devil, that he may vex those who believe; but he can harm them not at all unless by Allah's leave. In Allah let believers put their trust. there are already too many 'pelesit', 'syaitan' and 'iblis' in our society.
it is high time we change otherwise time will change us.

for people who still are in a state of denial and  must insist that they still have to choose pelesit and syaitan as their leaders, 
they will be relegated to the dustbin of history.

is there allah or god , anyway?
you are just a dot, a tiny weeny dot on a minute dot that is the earth, circumambulating another minute dot in a minute  remotest corner of the milky way galaxy ,  amongst billions other galaxies  with trillions  and trillions of dots within the universe!!

if there is such thing as god.....he must be a supra-supra intelligent god!!

so asked the secular skeptics, amongst us.
to them , they are more comfortable with the notion that we all are just an accident and incident of time.
evolution is a more convenient explanation.

surah al mujadila answers that vehemently.
there is not only a god!

that god answers all our pain and doa, if we care to have real faith in HIM!
HE did that to one khawlah binti tha'labah, 1450 years ago, in the presence of  the nabi [pbuh].......

Surah al Mujadila,58..............Prologue....

Sūrat al-Mujādilah , [ "She Who Disputes  ] is the 58th surah of the qur'an , consisting of 22 ayat.

it is a madinan surah.
the surah in its opening gambit addresses the legality of pre-Islamic method of divorce of that time, called zihar. 
"she who disputes" refers specifically  to one khawlah binti tha'labah, a woman who petitioned nabi muhammad about the cruelty of her husband and husbands in general  of that time. 

her petition is as relevant then, as it is now, currently.

the surah also discusses public assemblies and prescribes manners associated with it. 

it ends by contrasting 2 groups of people.
the people of allah, and the people of syaitan and iblis.

this a free world ......choose your pick.
but you will finally be called to answer for your choice!
